Best Vacuum for Cat Litter Reviews (Updated List)
1 Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute Vacuum Cleaner
Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute Vacuum Cleaner is a newer model after legendary Dyson V8 Absolute. It is again a cordless, hassle-free vacuum. However, being cordless does not make it any weaker. It has been tested and proved to have the most powerful suction of any cord-free vacuum. It is incredibly lightweight and also very versatile to be able to get in every corner. With one click it transforms into a handheld vacuum cleaner which can be used on sofas, beds, chairs, etc.
Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute uses cyclone technology in its digital motor V10. Having a ceramic shaft instead of steel, it spins at up to 125,000 rpm which is equivalent to the suction power of a full-size vacuum. It can run up to 60 minutes before getting recharged. Plus, it offers three power modes, choices for different floor types. However, keep in mind that the battery won’t last that long when you use high power modes. When it is time for recharging it can simply be dropped into its wall-mounted dock.
Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute features a 0.77 liters transparent bin, a 40% bigger bin than the previous model, V8. The bin can be emptied with just one click, it is extremely simple. Moreover, its torque drive cleaner head removes 25% more dust from carpets than the V8. The other head, the soft roller cleaner head can be used to remove fine dust and large debris from hard floors. I can say that it is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever used. I am head over heels in love with it.

You can store all its accessories such as the extra-long crevice tool, the dusting brush, and the upholstery tool on the vacuum itself so that you will not need to ever worry about where to put them or about losing them.
The extra-long crevice tool can be used to clean hard-to-reach places like corners and baseboards while the dusting brush is for removing dust on furniture. The upholstery tool is for sofas, pillows, curtains and such. You can reach to every corner thanks to Eureka NEU180B’s deluxe stretch hose which can extend up to 4 times its original length. Since it is transparent, you will always know when it is time for emptying. Moreover, the filter of this vacuum is washable so that you can easily rinse and reuse it. This vacuum is extremely easy to use via its easy-grip handle and fingertip-access on/off switch. It is very effective at picking up dry messes on many different surfaces. 4 SharkNinja Upright & Canister Vacuum TruePet Mini

It is also great at picking up pet hair thanks to its TruePet motorized brush. This vacuum comes with 3 power modes. In the upright mode, it maneuvers easily with dynamic swivel steering. The powered lift-away mode extends the reach of the motorized cleaner head by lifting the canister away. Finally, the above-floor mode provides premium above-floor cleaning capability.

Furthermore, it is equipped with LED light both on the handle and the nozzle to navigate you through dark corners and under furniture. It features a HEPA filter. Combined with the anti-allergen complete seal technology it traps 99% of dust and allergens inside.
SharkNinja Upright & Canister Vacuum is a very good whole-house vacuum cleaner but if you are looking for something lightweight, it may not be the best option. It is really good at sucking dirt and hair up from all surfaces but is a bit bulky for everyday use in my opinion.

ILIFE V3s Pro Robotic Vacuum is more than a vacuum cleaner. It is more like a maid that constantly sweeps floors and all you have to do is to simply turn it on and let it auto clean! It even comes with remote control for your specific cleaning needs. By specific cleaning needs, I mean that you can pre-schedule it to clean during your sleep time or when you are out of the house. When it has finished cleaning or is low on battery, ILIFE V3s Pro automatically returns to its dock to recharge.
ILIFE V3s Pro Robotic Vacuum has 3 cliff sensors under it to keep it from falling off from the stairs. It has a climbing capacity of a maximum grade of 15mm, which allows it to go on to carpets. It has OBS sensors on its body to recognize any barriers and avoid being hit.

It manages well with thin carpets, though.

Hoover T-Series features a washable Hepa filter and it is bagless. The device stops working when the dust bin is full and it can easily be emptied. It also has an auto-stop feature which automatically shuts off the vacuum after 30 minutes. This is a precaution for safety but they could have made the shut-off time longer because it is too short for vacuuming all the rooms. Other than that, it is pretty perfect.

- Weighs 18.7 pounds.
- Hepa filter
- Washable filter.
- Accessories: Air-powered pet hand tool, pet upholstery tool, 12” extension wand, crevice tool.

One thing I would like to mention about Shark Pet-Perfect Portable Hand Vacuum is that if its battery dies, keep in mind that a replacement is very pricey. Be prepared to pay that money in such a case or your vacuum cleaner will become total garbage.

Vacuum for Cat Litter Buying Guide
The most important factor for narrowing down your choices when choosing a vacuum cleaner for cats is your budget, of course. Vacuum cleaners are expensive devices in general but when you have an infinite budget, the sky is the limit for the prices. However, there are plenty of good options for tighter budgets, too.
In order to save a lot of time, decide on your budget before starting to look. So that you won’t lose any time looking at devices that cost 1000$ when your limit is 600$. Also, remember that paying twice as much does not mean twice good performance so getting a pricier device may not offer you a higher quality and performance all the time. The important thing is to get a vacuum cleaner of value, a device that is worth its price.
2. Vacuum Type
Which type of vacuum you should choose depends on for what purpose you need it. Of course, the main idea is to get rid of cat hair and stray litter but maybe you already have a regular whole-house vacuum cleaner and you only want something for quick cleanups. Then, a handheld vacuum might be a better option for you instead of a standing vacuum. A second standing vacuum will take up a lot of budget and storage space for quick cleanups. There are some standing vacuum cleaners on the market that can be converted into handheld vacuums. If you need both, you might want to look for this 2 in 1 feature.
The case also might be that you want something which will save you from all this daily vacuuming task for good. Then, you should look for a robot vacuum cleaner which will auto-vacuum all over your place. Therefore, at the beginning of your research decide for which purposes you want to use your new vacuum cleaner and decide on its type accordingly.
3. Floor Type
Check if the vacuum cleaner you are considering is effective on your floor type. Some vacuum cleaners are not as efficient on hard floors as others. Some are great on tiles while others are good on carpets. If you have a carpeted home, you should make your choice accordingly.
Most vacuums are adaptable to different floorings from tiles to laminated floors. But generally, they are better at one or the other. You should choose the best match for your floors.
The performance of a vacuum cleaner basically depends on its suction power. How well does it pick up light and heavy debris? Does it pick up the litter out of the carpet? It picks up hair from the hard floor just fine but can it pick hair out of the carpets or the sofa? Does it leave dust behind when it picks up the scattered litter? Check out all these details before making a choice. Also, using dust-free cat litter might help to make your vacuum cleaner’s job easier.
Secondly, a good vacuum cleaner for cat hair does not get clogged on cat hair. If it does, then it is rubbish. A good vacuum cleaner picks up all the cat hair and conveys it safely into the dust bin. Of course, there are some precautions you can take for not letting your vacuum to get destroyed by cat hair such as regular grooming.
5. Ease of Use and Maintenance
When it comes to the ease of use of a vacuum cleaner, the foremost important features are maneuverability and weight. As a cat owner who needs to vacuum at least once a day you do not want something bulky but something lightweight and easy to turn around. Also, check if the vacuum cleaner has fingertip controls. You would not want to reach for a button on the nozzle every time you go from hard floors to carpets.
A transparent dust bin is a great bonus because you would always know how full it is and when it needs to be emptied with only one look. Moreover, it should be easy to empty and clean. There are a lot of options that can be emptied with only one click. Washable filters are also very convenient because you will not need to worry about buying and keeping spare paper filters.
By capacity what I mean is the storage capacity of the dust bin or the bag of the vacuum cleaner. To begin with, I certainly suggest a bagless vacuum. In my opinion, bags are a nuisance because they get filled very quickly and as they get full the suction power of the vacuum drops. Then there is the issue of buying exchange bags, keeping extras all the time and changing regularly. For me, it is too much work when there are bagless vacuum cleaners available. I empty the dust bin of my vacuum daily with only one click and I am good to go.
About capacity, think of approximately how much stray litter you have in your house and how much your cat sheds. For example, if you have multiple cats, something with a larger cup would be better for you. Otherwise, you may need to empty the cup before you get to clean the third room. If you have only one cat and a small apartment, a vacuum cleaner with a relatively smaller dust bin might be enough for you.
7. Corded or Cordless?
Cat owners usually need to vacuum the house more than once a day and a corded vacuum cleaner is a too much work. You need to deal with the cord even when you only want to vacuum the sofa or around the litter box. If you already have a corded whole-house vacuum cleaner and you are buying a second one for daily cleanups, I definitely suggest something cordless. It saves you from a lot of tackling and struggle. A cordless vacuum cleaner can reach further than a corded one and you can use it to clean your car, as well.
However, there is a battery life issue. If you live in a big house and you want to use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum all your rooms thoroughly, you may need to charge a cordless one very often. Of course, there are options on the market with very good battery lives but still, I believe a cordless vacuum cleaner should be the secondary vacuum cleaner of a house.
Even though accessories sound like extra tools and nothing essential, they are extremely important in a vacuum cleaner. They determine the specificity of a vacuum cleaner. How many different heads does a vacuum cleaner come with? Does it have a specific head to clean hair from the carpets and a different one to pick up litter from hard floors? Does it have a crevice tool to reach into corners and a pet hair tool to vacuum upholstery? Moreover, does it come with a dusting brush to get rid of the cat hair on your furniture?
In addition, look for a vacuum cleaner on which you can load all these accessories. In this way, you will always have them at hand when you need and you will not need to worry about where to store them or about losing them.
How noisy a vacuum cleaner works matters both for your and your cat’s comfort. Some cats freak out when the vacuum comes out and hide away until it is out of sight. They hate the vacuum because of the noise it makes while working. Assuming you will be using it daily, you should not object your cat to such stress that often. Unless your cat does not care about the sound at all, I suggest that you pick something not very loud.
Cat hair and litter dust are invitations to allergies. Even if members of your household are not allergic to either of them, your guests might be. Or, you can develop some allergies over time. Therefore, I suggest a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter. HEPA stands for high-efficiency particulate air. A HEPA filter works by trapping harmful particles such as pollen, dust, pet dander and tobacco smoke. Therefore, using a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter is perfect for fighting allergens and pollutants.
A cat owner’s best friend is the vacuum cleaner. I have a cat and a dog at home who shed like crazy and scatter stray litter everywhere. Therefore, my vacuum cleaner really is my best friend. Every morning, my vacuuming routine is like therapy to me, during which I clear my head for the day. Once you have found the right vacuum cleaner which makes this normally laborious process easy for you, you will feel the same way about it. The trick is to find the perfect match and I hope that my reviews on the best vacuum cleaner for cat litter have helped you.
